About Dr. Sumedh Ambardar
Dr. Sumedh Ambardar, DPM, is a surgically trained podiatrist with specialized experience in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, diabetic limb salvage, wound care, and peripheral nerve disorders. He is proud to be part of the team at Chevy Chase Foot & Ankle, where he brings a strong clinical foundation and a deep commitment to thoughtful, patient-centered care.

Originally from Virginia, Dr. Ambardar earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he developed a strong interest in lower extremity biomechanics, complex pathology, and functional reconstruction.

He completed a comprehensive three-year surgical residency at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, a high-volume academic program known for its excellence in diabetic limb salvage, trauma, and complex reconstructive procedures. His training included extensive experience in forefoot and rearfoot surgery, limb salvage and diabetic foot care.

Dr. Ambardar is known for his kind demeanor, attentive communication, and team-based approach. He takes the time to understand each patient’s goals, working collaboratively to restore function and improve quality of life.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ambardar enjoys staying active through sports like basketball and running, exploring new cities, traveling, and spending time with his family in Virginia.
